A Beloved Mountain Tradition Returns: Inside the 2025 Cashiers Designer Showhouse
There’s something magical about Cashiers in late summer. Nestled in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, it’s where crisp mornings, timeless style, and natural beauty collide—and this August, it’s also where you’ll find the design world gathering for one of the Southeast’s most anticipated annual events.
The 29th Annual Cashiers Designer Showhouse, presented by the Cashiers Historical Society, returns August 22-30, 2025, promising nine unforgettable days of style, inspiration, and community. Each year, this beloved tradition brings thousands to Cashiers to explore a showstopping —thoughtfully transformed by some of the South's most celebrated interior designers. Proceeds from the event support the preservation of the history and culture of the Cashiers Valley, making this fundraiser as meaningful as it is beautiful.
This year's Showhouse is set in the serene and secluded Saratay Falls, a Loudermilk Homes development celebrating the natural grandeur of the Plateau. Tucked off historic Whiteside Cove, the featured home blends modern rustic charm with refined mountain living—an ideal canvas for the 12 featured designers from across the region.
For those who can't wait, the Showhouse Preview Day offers early access to Benefactors and Corporate Sponsors, followed by a highly anticipated Opening Night Party. A week of special events, design moments, and shopping at The Village Green rounds out the experience.
Whether you love design, support preservation efforts, or are looking for a meaningful summer getaway, the Cashiers Designer Showhouse is a must. I'll be chatting with one of the key organizers on the Grandma's Silver podcast this summer—Rowanne McKnight, Chair of the 2025 Cashiers Designer Showhouse—but until then, mark your calendars, start planning your trip, and get ready to fall in love with Cashiers.
